Director of Football Nutrition

The Coastal Carolina University Football program is seeking a Director of Football Nutrition to direct, organize and manage all nutrition needs for the football student-athletes.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to: manage and coordinate team travel nutritional needs; assess and counsel football student-athletes on optimal nutrition practices for athletic performance, recovery from training/competition, recovery from injury and illness, weight management, hydration and supplementation; administer nutrition screenings for football student-athletes under supervision and consultation from the NCAA Medical Director; in consultation with the Head Football Athletic Trainer and under direction of Athletic Medical Director; manage the Football fueling station including the ordering, inventory, and procurement of food products and supplies; manage football meal responsibilities for all team activities; manage football conditioning recovery responsibilities; develop and deliver athletic performance tailored nutritional and educational material to student-athletes; participate in Nutrition and Performance committee meetings, sports science meetings and performance meetings.

 

 

Requirements: A bachelor's degree or higher in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field with related experience is required. Must be a Registered Dietician with completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics. Completion of or working towards a Board Certification for Specialist in Sports Dietetics. Employee must maintain and provide proof of appropriate RD/RDN certification and South Carolina Panel for Dietetics Licensure. A master's degree and significant work experience as a Registered Dietitian is preferred. Previous employment in intercollegiate or professional athletics and previous experience working with collegiate or professional football is also preferred. Member of the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association is preferred.

Time Limited position (annual appointment) with benefits and an annual salary of $55,000.00. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the University. Ability to work a nonstandard work week which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.  Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to handle a fast-paced intense work environment.
