The Notre Dame Sports Nutrition team is accepting applications for a Seasonal Football Nutrition Intern to serve the Notre Dame Football Team. Under the direction of the Football Sports Dietitians, the intern will gain experience working in the collegiate nutrition setting and assist the Football Nutrition Department.

This position will work varying hours each week including early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays. The position is intended to start at the end of this spring season through August preseason camp with potential to stay on the 2024 Football season pending performance. This is an hourly paid position working ~ 32-38 hours/week. Benefits are NOT included.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities fall under foodservice and nutrition. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing operations, stocking, and cleaning of the Fuel Station and Player Lounge.
  • Managing inventory and quality control of all foods, fluids, and products in the Football fueling stations and storage areas.
  • Assisting with student worker management for Football tasks
  • Receiving, organizing and storing all Football deliveries
  • Assisting with all Football meal and grab & go orders and deliveries
  • Helping with all football practices and lift needs (includes making snacks, smoothies and setting up snack carts/recovery stations).
  • Creating weekly Tasty Tuesday/Try It Thursday nutritional snacks
  • Creating materials for social media and handouts.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time and maintain professionalism. Ability to work as part of a team and possess a friendly demeanor. A strong interest in sports nutrition.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work a non-traditional work week; including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some experience in a sports nutrition related field is preferable. Some experience in a food service related field is preferable.
 Pay Rate: $20/hour
