Description:

The University of Idaho Athletic Department is currently seeking applicants for a Sports Nutrition Fellowship. This 9-month fellowship is intended for highly motivated individuals who are interested in gaining valuable experience in Collegiate Sports Nutrition. Under the supervision of the Sports Dietitian, the fellow will provide nutrition services to student-athletes across various teams from Fall 2024 to Spring 2025. This is a great opportunity for RDs wanting to gain experience working in collegiate athletics and for those needing experience to obtain the CSSD license. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide nutrition education to student-athletes through educational materials, presentations, and other methods


Provide team-specific nutrition services (e.g. team talks, nutrition counseling, hydration testing, food demos, monitoring locker room snacks, etc.)


Assist in the management of the Fueling Center with tasks such as inventory, managing, stocking, and assisting with the development of special snack options


Serve as the primary manager of student workers and assist with scheduling and training staff


Work closely with coaching staff, athletic trainers, strength staff, and others from the athletic department on nutrition-related topics


Assist in managing social media accounts

 

Required Education and Credentials:

Bachelors in Dietetics, or related field

RD or RDE 

 

Required Qualifications:

Background and interest in Sports Nutrition

Ability to work  non-traditional hours, including some weekends and holidays

Ability to lift/carry objects up to 30lbs

 

Benefits:

$25/hour, 30-40 hours/week 

 

Commitment:

The fellowship will start August 2024 and terminate May 2025
